Yesterday blogger was not digging on me. I had some issues making the posts I WANTED to make. So I'm going to do them all today. Sorry about that delay, I was really looking forward to all of them.
As for now, I know I've blogged about them before, but Vampire Weekend is seriously one of my favorite bands. And look how cute their music video for "A-Punk" is.

Dormbuys
I just found out about this site called dormbuys. I know it's typical of a college student to become obsessed with a site like this...but I was blown away.
Here are some of my favorite things from the site:

Bathroom Tote- $14.95 (although I guess I don't really need this much longer because NEXT YEAR I'LL BE LIVING IN AN APARTMENT)

Ironing Blanket (as seen on apartmenttherapy) $7.46

Atom Floor Mirror - $129.99

Kensington Chair - $247.99 (I would love to get a crazy printed fabric and do some re-upholstering)

White Side Table - $59.99 (I don't know what I would do to this, maybe sand it down and make it look kind of antique-y)
Eeee. I just got REALLY excited about living in a bigger space next year (aka seven months or so)

Ez does it again!!!
I feel as though I've been blogging a lot about Miss Ez lately...because she's amazing and she's just outdone herself AGAIN.
She has made a lovely directory of her favorite design blogs. I can only imagine how long it must have taken her to do all of this, but the results are beautiful.
My favorite lookers:

Plus, my new FAVORITE blog...

Check it out.

New Puppy?
So, talking to my mom yesterday...I found out that we are maybe getting a puppy dog! My mom wants one, and dad is on business a lot and is gone all day at work anyways...so this weekend we are having a trial run. We are "renting" our puppy (10 months old, german sherpherd/lab mix) for the weekend to see how mom does.
So, I'm spending every free second at home this weekend to play with our maybe? puppy. I'm thinking he should look like this:

How flipping cute is that? I am going to cuddle the little pooch a LOT this weekend.

Art Deco
I have always loved a little art deco inspiration. We were talking about art deco in my Literature of the City class, and I was inspired to do some Etsy searching on the topic...

Chris Walla
So maybe I'm really into boys tonight, I don't know.
But Pete showed this video to be the other day and it is GREAT. Have you seen The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou? Yes? Then you should appreciate this lil music video. Chris Walla was one of the main guys from the band Death Cab for Cutie...so here he is.
"Sing Again", from his solo LP Field Manual.
Wallpaper City Guides
Thanks to Ali over at ali loves curtis, I am blessing you, dear readers, with this beautiful sight:

Each of these books is a little city guide. I picked up the Paris version awhile back. Ever since, I've been practically drooling all over my copy. I cannot WAIT to travel overseas...whenever that happens.

The Three Coolest Guys Ever...
All together on one screen.
That's right. Stephen Colbert, Conan O'Brien, and Jon Stewart- all duking it out about who REALLY brought Huckabee into existence.
I have little baby crushes on each of these men...I don't understand politics, but I really enjoy listening to them all talk about it.

Snow days are the best days.
EVERYONE had a snow day in St. Louis this past Friday. It was amazing. I wish I had a snow day everyday.
Me, Pete, and Frank explored that day...kind of. We went to The Future Antique (TFA), one of my favorite stores in St. Louis. I pondered buying an American Tourister Matching Luggage set (pale yellow...I lusted after that for a couple of minutes) and I almost bought a train case for all my sewing supplies, but I either didn't like the color or the inside was too torn up.
Then I stumbled upon their racks and racks of old magazines from the '40s - '70s. I've always loved magazines, and, well, THESE mags had a bunch of stuff in them that I've never read before, so they're super special and wonderful. I went through them and saw some really surprising stuff- a Vodka Smirnoff ad with Woody Allen, an interview with Donna Reed (before she hit the big-time with It's a Wonderful Life), a LIFE magazine with Margaret O'Brien on the cover, and of course, PAGES of fabulous ads from the past. When I have more money I want to frame a bunch of the pretty perfume ads and put them up in my bathroom. One of my favorites?
Chanel.
Let me tell you, I've seen the old stuff and I'm not really digging the newer ads.
Let's compare... circa now:

Glenn Miller & Company
I've ALWAYS been a jazz gal at heart (born and raised), and while Glenn Miller has indeed been played in my house, he was sort of shoved to the side for my dad's love of Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, and Herbie Hancock.
But right now I'm listening to "Moonlight Serenade". This song is so pretty, I want to dance to it at my wedding. It's one of those songs that is so perfect, I wish it was longer...for me, it's in the same group as:
+ "Apple Tree" - Peter & the Wolf
+ "The Wind" - Cat Stevens
+ "As Time Goes By" - Dooley Wilson
+ "Hey Sandy" - Polaris [also known as the theme song to The Adventures of Pete & Pete]
Oh, Glenn Miller...how wonderful your music is, and how sad your story was.

Arrested Development
They're making a movie. OMGz. I am so excited right now...except I would be more excited if I wasn't yawning myself to sleep right now.

I hope Franklin makes an appearance or two.
