Help, I'm Alive

Swiss Miss posted this video. I had seen it before, without sound (I'm really good at perusing youtube during classes). I'm glad someone posted it again so I could hear all the good things Emily Haines (of Metric fame) had to say - it's really very powerful and just good to hear. I feel like everyone is asking themselves what they REALLY want to do with their lives now, and this video/song/lyrics just really summed it all up.

I want to go to a foreign country and wander around and meet people and play on a beautiful, old piano. God, it's been so LONG since I've played the piano, since I've written a (crappy) song...

I tremble
They’re gonna eat me alive
If I stumble
They’re gonna eat me alive

Can you hear my heart
Beating like a hammer
Beating like a hammer
Help, I’m alive, my heart keeps beating like a hammer
Hard to be soft, tough to be tender
Come take my pulse, the pace is on a runaway train
Help, I’m alive, my heart keeps beating like a hammer
Beating like a hammer

If you’re still alive
My regrets are few
If my life is mine
what shouldn’t I do?
I get wherever I’m going
I get whatever I need
While my blood’s still flowing
And my heart still beating like a hammer
Beating like a hammer

I love love Emily Haines. I think I am going to go see Metric this summer and I fully intend on going 100% fan girl.
