Oops!

I missed my blog post yesterday :(

But here it is! The first summer that Pete and I were together, he spent most of his days down in Cairo, working for his dad. We saw each other every weekend, except for when I went on vacation with my family. I missed him SO MUCH. I think I may have separation anxiety.

But anyways. I'm a crafty gal and to keep me busy (very, very busy), I created the book of love. The book of love is based off of a Magnetic Fields' song, called..."The Book of Love". It's gorgeous. Here's the lyrics:

The book of love is long and boring
No one can lift the damn thing
It's full of charts and facts and figures
And instructions for dancing
But I, I love it when you read to me
And you, you can read me anything

The book of love has music in it
In fact, that's where music comes from
Some of it is just transcendental
Some of it is just really dumb, but
I, I love it when you sing to me, and
You, you can sing me anything

The book of love is long and boring
And written very long ago
It's full of flowers and heart-shaped boxes
And things we're all too young to know, but
I, I love it when you give me things
And you, you ought to give me wedding rings

So, anyways. I found an old textbook and literally decorated every page with stories about us, pictures, song lyrics, trinkets, and, AND, I found a book super cheap with "instructions for dancing". And yes, there is also music (I made a BoL mix CD that fits into the back cover), and there are pictures of flowers, and charts and facts and figures.

I spent many, many hours working on this. It really did keep me busy. While working on it, I usually watched bad daytime TV or Mythbusters.

It was a lot of fun to make. And Pete loved it.
