Movies I'm SUPER Excited For

Okay. I love going to see movies. Pete loves going to see movies. Pretty much all my friends love going to see movies.

So, here's a round-up of trailers for your perusal. I just found out about one of them today, but I've been waiting with bated breath for the rest. EXCITING!

1. (500) Days of Summer - my initial thoughts towards this film...wow. I cannot even begin to describe it. First of all, I am OBSESSED with Zooey Deschanel. I think she is super talented and I love her music and, I mean...she's GORGEOUS! AND it has Joseph Gordan-Levitt. This movie will make me laugh and cry at the same time. Oh, and Regina supplies music for the trailer so it HAS to be good.

2. Where the Wild Things Are - I've mentioned this before. The trailer came out today. It made me tear up. I loved (and was scared of) this book as a kid. But the movie just looks perfect and heartfelt.

3. Away We Go - Okay. John Krasinksi. Not a huge fan of Maya Rudolph, but still. This movie looks very sweet. I want to travel all over the world! And Maggie Gyllenhael is in it...so that's good, too.

4. Sunshine Cleaning - I love Amy Adams. The premise for this show is, like, Little Miss Sunshine meets Law & Order. At least that's how it looks to me.

5. Adventureland - Bill Hader makes me laugh. Martin Starr makes me laugh. This should be good.

6. The Brothers Bloom - Okay, technically I've already seen this at the St. Louis International Film Festival, with Pete, Steve, and Mary - but I want to see it again and they keep pushing the release date back!

7. UP - I've previously mentioned this, but this is a BRAND NEW TRAILER! It still looks good. Disney/Pixar cannot go wrong.

8. Funny People - this one looks like a tear jerker. Adam Sandler, while I don't agree with ALL his career choices, does make some gems. This will be one of them.

9. Taking Woodstock - I used to own a jacket that my neighbor gave me. He claimed he had worn it at Woodstock '69. I mean, that's pretty cool, right? This movie looks great. Made me tear up. The actual trailer doesn't start for about 20 seconds or so; hang in there!

10. The Boat That Rocked - star cast. Cool topic. Generally, I'm pretty excited about this. I just love me some Philip Seymour Hoffman.

11. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs - Um, wasn't this EVERYONE'S favorite children's book? It was mine. This looks great! Although it seems to be pretty science-oriented at the beginning (booo-ooo-oooring), a lot of the scenes in the trailer are DIRECTLY from the book. Yes!

Other Movies I Am Equally Excited About (Alas, No Trailers Yet)

1. The Time Traveler's Wife - holy MOLEY, I have been waiting YEARS for this. I can truly say that. This is one of the best books I have ever read. It hasn't gotten old yet. And I don't care if the movie is totally botched. August 14th cannot come soon enough (although a trailer would suffice).

2. Julie & Julia - I've been wanting to read this book for awhile. It sounds nice. I like Amy Adams and Meryl Streep. So all around, this seems like it will be a "nice" movie.

3. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World - Okay, this is pretty much 100% Pete's influence on me...but this movie is going to be AMAZING!!! [Note: I've linked this to Edgar Wright's blog. He is the director. Every day, he takes a picture of the production/filmings and posts it on the web. Schweet!]

4. the Arrested Development movie - No title. No information, really. But if it will come out, rest assured, I'll be there opening night (or at a preview screening before that, or a midnight show)
